सन् २०२२ को साधारण निर्वाचनमा खड्काले ४२,६०७ मतले सुर्खेत जिल्लामा जिते र आफ्नो निकटतम प्रतिद्वन्द्वीलाई १०,००० मतका अन्तरले पराजित गरे। उनलाई सुर्खेत-१ निर्वाचन क्षेत्रबाट प्रतिनिधि सभाका सदस्यको रूपमा निर्वाचित गरियो।

उनको राजनीतिक जीवनमा खड्काले मजबूत नेतृत्व कौशल र मानिसहरूसँग सम्बन्ध स्थापना गर्ने क्षमताका लागि चिनिन्छन्। उनले नेपालमा प्रजातन्त्र र मौलिक अधिकारहरूका लागि काम गरेका छन्।
